Tim's Hard Candy

Tim makes this every Christmas and no other time. And every Christmas everyone in the family is looking forward to it.

3 3/4c sugar
1 1/2c light corn syrup
1c water
_______________

1tsp Lorann flavoring (this can be substituted for any other brand candy flavoring but he swears by this kind).
Food coloring of your choice. (IMO what kind of crazy person doesn't make cinn candy red though?)
powdered sugar

Mix first three ingrediants in a large sauce pan. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
Boil, without stirring, until temp reaches 310 degrees on candy thermometer. Remove from heat. After boiling has ceased, stir in flavoring and coloring. Pour on lightly greased cookie sheet and cool. Break into pieces. Makes ~2lbs.
